
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Grace Henry Morenike as the new Chairman of the Nigerian Legion. This decision, approved by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, reflects a continued commitment to strengthening the leadership and operational capacity of the Legion.
In accordance with the Nigerian Legion Act, which stipulates that the position of Chairman be occupied by a veteran, Ms. Morenike has met the necessary criteria and brings with her a track record of dedication and service.
Her appointment aligns with international standards observed in veterans’ organizations across the world, where leadership is based on merit, service, and administrative capability.
We extend our congratulations to Ms. Morenike and look forward to her contribution toward repositioning the Nigerian Legion for improved service delivery and support for veterans nationwide.
We also acknowledge the support of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the Honourable Minister of Defence, the Minister of State for Defence, the Permanent Secretary, and the Director of Joint Services, whose roles were instrumental in facilitating this transition.
